Summary:

The Purchase District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Grant Specialist/Data Analyst located at our District Office in Paducah, KY. The Grant Specialist/Data Analyst is responsible for coordinating grant administration activities and providing data analysis support to advance public health programs and initiatives. The position manages the grant lifecycle, including grant research, application support, compliance monitoring, reporting, and budget tracking, while also collecting, analyzing, and interpreting public health data to support decision-making, program evaluation, and strategic planning.

Description:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: research and identify federal, state, and private funding opportunities aligned with department priorities, coordinate preparation and submission of grant applications, monitor grant agreements to ensure compliance with funding requirements and regulations, track grant expenditures, prepare and submit required financial and programmatic reports, maintain grant records and documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and retention policies, collaborate with program managers, assist with grant audits and monitoring reviews. Collect, validate, and analyze public health data, develop and maintain reporting tools, monitor performance and grant-related outcomes, prepare reports and presentations, support community health assessment and strategic planning initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree from a college or university and have 2-4 years of health related experience, research, or nonprofit experience. Must have grant experience can include writing, working on grant activities, compliance, preparing grant reports, or similar. Proficient in data analysis and statistical techniques. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of technology and data management preferred.

Language skills: Applicant must possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Applicant must possess the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical skills: Applicant must possess the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Must be able to complete data analysis and provide in a format that is digestible.

Reasoning ability: Applicant must possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Applicant must possess the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Technology skills: Applicant must have at least an intermediate level of knowledge of Microsoft Suite particularly Excel.

Compensation: $25-$28 per hour based on experience.

Job Type: Full-time, contract position

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, with some evenings and weekends. Must have reliable transportation. Travel required. Travel is reimbursed per Purchase District Health Department policies and guidelines.

Skills Required
