Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Graduate Electronic Engineer on a defined-term (23months) basis to join our Clonmel team.

Job Purpose:

As a Graduate Engineer at Boston Scientific, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues, contribute to innovative medical technologies and build hands-on experience in a collaborative environment.

With the Active Implantable R&D team, you will support the design, development, integration and verification of electronic circuits and subsystems for active implantable medical devices. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will gain practical experience in areas such as schematic capture, circuit simulation, PCB development, component selection, electrical characterisation and hardware integration with embedded software and system-level functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build quality into all aspects of your work by maintaining compliance with applicable quality requirements and learning to apply medical device design controls, standards and development processes.
• Support the design, development and testing of electrical circuits and subsystems for active implantable medical devices.
• Assist with schematic capture, circuit simulation, PCB development and component selection under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Support hardware integration activities with embedded software and system-level functions, building an understanding of how electronic subsystems interact within the overall device.
• Participate in electrical characterisation, troubleshooting and performance evaluation activities using appropriate laboratory test equipment.
• Assist with verification testing, analyse results and clearly document test methods, observations and outcomes.
• Support risk management activities and the implementation of design mitigations, with guidance from the project team.
• Generate and maintain clear engineering documentation in accordance with Quality Management System requirements and participate in design reviews and technical problem-solving activities.
• Collaborate effectively with Systems, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality and Regulatory colleagues while developing your technical knowledge and professional skills.

Education & Experience:

• Hons Bachelor Degree (Level 8) Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is essential.
• Graduated within the past two years or currently in the final year of university.
• Relevant work experience or completion of a co-op program.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the initiative to contribute in a collaborative environment.
• Strong systems aptitude and an interest in developing technical skills.
• Enthusiastic, proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
• Interest in medical technology, manufacturing, product development or continuous improvement.
