What will you be doing?

The capSpire Ignite Programme empowers recent grads to accelerate their career growth.  During the twelve week programme, you will be mentored by commodity subject matter experts and product specialists. The ignite program combines challenging work rotations with classroom and online training in a highly structured framework, the program is designed to develop the next generation of leaders for the business and technology consulting functions within capSpire.

As part of this programme your role will provide you with considerable challenge, variety and development opportunity in a client facing environment. You will work as part of a core team delivering exciting and complex programmes for our clients such as Power & Gas utilities, Oil majors, Commodity Trading houses and Brokers. You will be engaging in strategically important client transformation and operations projects based in Europe, US, APAC and beyond.

We work with our clients to implement energy and commodity trading software systems and are interested in talking with smart, motivated people who can learn no matter what your current technology skill set happens to be.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn and master Energy/Commodity Trading & Risk Management (E/CTRM) products for business & technology consulting.
  • Partner with capSpire consultants globally and client business teams to understand business objectives and integration requirements.
  • Translate the client’s business requirements into system design.
  • Ability to acquire business knowledge to help create long-term customer solutions.
  • Verify functional feasibility and validate solution options for the requirements.
  • Analyse, resolve problems and drive improvements of technology solutions.
  • Software development from requirements, to design, to code, to test, to operations & support.
  • Expand your industry knowledge, contribute to the development of capSpire’s consulting capabilities and effectively articulate our key business propositions to clients.

Required Skills/Experience

  • The position requires a unique blend of technical aptitude, business savvy and communication skills.
  • Qualifications within Engineering, Computer Science or other Technical discipline.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Computer science fundamentals, esp. object-oriented design, data structures and algorithm design.
  • Exposure to object-oriented programming, preferably C#.
  • Experience with relational databases: data modelling and SQL.
  • Strong problem identification skills and creativity to develop new, innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Interest and willingness to explore a consulting career.
  • Understanding of energy markets is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel.
