Job Purpose:
- The Grader - Miscel position at Goodwill Industries of Dallas Inc is integral to the organization's mission of empowering individuals and strengthening communities through employment opportunities. This full-time role involves assessing and sorting donated items to ensure quality standards are met, thereby supporting the organization's charitable endeavors and retail operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and grade donated items based on established quality criteria to determine suitability for resale.
- Sort and categorize items efficiently to facilitate smooth processing and inventory management.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of graded items and report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the grading area to promote operational efficiency.
- Support Goodwill's mission by adhering to company policies and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role or environment is preferred.
- Experience working within a not-for-profit or charitable organization is advantageous.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in grading tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and supervisors.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with data entry and inventory management systems.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may include lifting, standing, and moving items as required by the role.
