Business Unit Overview:

Global Product Solutions (“GPS”) was formed with the mission of bringing the right products and solutions, in the right way, at the right time to help our clients meet their goals. GPS partners across the firm to lead iShares and drive the business priorities of all our investment businesses. The team innovates on new products and solutions; curates and commercializes our product lineup across client channels; creates exceptional insights so our clients can build the best portfolios; and supports extraordinary careers.

Within that, the GPS business in Australia helps wealth managers, asset managers and institutional clients across Australasia build better portfolios, delivering BlackRock’s suite of product solutions.

The iShares Fixed Income Product Strategy team offers an array of fixed income products designed to meet specific client risk and return profiles ranging from efficient index to unconstrained active strategies. The Product Strategists provides expertise on the fixed income market and product solutions available for our clients. The role includes client facing meetings/presentations as well as driving product and market education materials to drive better portfolio solutions.

The team is responsible for representing the full suite of iShares Fixed Income solutions to internal and external clients. This includes Australian and Global ETF as well as any customized index bond exposures. The team is centrally involved in the firm’s bond ETF thought leadership agenda, product development and marketing narratives. Critical to the success of the team is the maintenance of strong relationships with the respective portfolio management teams, and distribution teams who are responsible for managing and developing BlackRock’s client relationships.

Job Purpose/Background:

The product strategist in the iShares Fixed Income Product Strategy team will be focusing primarily on the commercialization, growth, and development of the Blackrock Australia’s iShares fixed income solution business with a primary focus on the wealth market.

The Fixed Income Product Strategist will help drive business growth in Australia, being a proactive business owner and a credible face of our bond ETFs. The role will be a key link between internal subject matter experts like portfolio managers, marketing and the distribution team as well as interacting directly with investment advisors, consultants and researchers.

Key Responsibilities:

· Engage clients as a technical subject matter expert for our full suite of iShares fixed income solutions, bringing deep fixed income expertise to bear and developing a thorough understanding of client needs. The primary focus is on the Australian wealth market.

· Own, create and maintain product narratives, client education thought materials and presentations for client engagement.

· Contribute to the broader product strategy and research as it relates to Fixed income solutions including identifying product gaps and improvements to existing products.

· Drive product commercialization with appropriate messaging, education and product positioning

· Understand the competitor landscape including our comparative key points of differentiation and create a feedback loop to drive improvement adapting to changing client demands.

Knowledge/Experience/Competencies:

The role is best suited to someone who enjoys articulating technical concepts, has a strong attention to detail and is interested in bond markets. The candidate will also need strong communication skills and excellent numerical skills. The successful candidate will need the following:

· Fixed income background with strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience.

· Financial derivatives and index experience in a buy-side, sell-side or data provider role

· Ability to develop strategic thinking with commercial market awareness and business acumen

· Presence, maturity, and credibility to effectively represent internally and externally, and confidence in engaging with internal and external client base

· Ability to develop strong and trusting relationships with both internal and external clients

· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas, and processes

· Strong team player, collaborative, and cooperative approach to tasks in a fast-paced environment

· Ambitious work ethic and professional disposition

Skills/Qualifications:

· High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint essential

· Experience in financial software such as Bloomberg, Morningstar advantageous

· CFA qualification or candidacy a plus
