The Role

We’re seeking a Government Marketing Specialist to lead marketing initiatives targeting U.S. government, defense, and related sectors. This role requires someone who understands government procurement processes, speaks the language of government stakeholders, and can position OpenTeams’ open-source AI and software solutions to meet the needs of agencies with complex security, compliance, and mission requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to generate leads and build brand presence in government and defense sectors.
  • Translate technical capabilities into language and value propositions that resonate with government buyers, program managers, and contracting officers.
  • Support proposal and RFP responses with targeted messaging, case studies, and capability statements.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and leadership teams to align marketing efforts with contract pursuits and ensure messaging supports compliance requirements.
  • Build relationships with relevant industry associations, government forums, and event organizers to maximize visibility.
  • Create marketing collateral tailored for government audiences, including capability briefs, white papers, and event materials.
  • Track and analyze marketing performance in the government sector, adjusting tactics based on results.
  • Align government and defense efforts with OpenTeams’ company shared language, culture, and open source mission.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in marketing to U.S. government and/or defense customers.
  • Prior experience with new offerings in software and related services.
  • Understanding of federal procurement processes, contracting vehicles, and compliance.
  • Strong ability to translate technical concepts into government-aligned value propositions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with AI, open-source software, or enterprise technology preferred.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
