Overview

Job Summary

The Government & Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) Strategic Contract Analyst is a cross-functional role that supports both Government and GPO segments for all Business Units. This particular position will focus more heavily on the government contract side of the business with some GPO focus (25%). The Contract Analyst will collaborate closely with the Strategic Directors of Government and GPO contracts. For Government business, the Contract Analyst will identify and assess federal sales opportunities, assist with the RFP/RFQ process, and ensure integrity, compliance, and performance across Werfen’s government contract portfolio. For GPOs, the Contract Analyst will ensure accurate and timely price activations and support alignment of pricing strategies.

The Contract Analyst plays a key role in advancing Werfen’s Government (Federal) and GPO growth strategies by leveraging data tools and partnering with Sales, Contracts, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Legal.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities


Government Opportunity Identification & Market Intelligence

  • Monitor federal procurement platforms (e.g., SAM.gov, GSA eBuy, VA FSS, and other public sources) to identify bid and sales opportunities.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to track federal spending trends and Werfen’s competitive positioning.
  • Maintain an opportunity pipeline and provide data-driven insights to support prioritization.

Government Contract Administration & Maintenance

  • Provide administrative support for additions, deletions, and modifications to Werfen’s FSS and GSA agreements, as well as GPO contracts.
  • Assist with government contract audits, reporting, and internal tracking requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with contract terms, FAR/DFARS requirements, and agency-specific policies.

GPO Contract Administration

  • Ensure accurate and timely GPO price activations across all Business Units (monthly and as needed) for HealthTrust, Vizient, Premier, and Ascension/The Resource Group.
  • Manage GPO tier changes, including customer movement between tiers.
  • Resolve alignment issues between national and local agreements when pricing or GPO affiliations change.

Government & GPO RFP/RFQ Support & Proposal Development

  • Analyze solicitations (RFQs, RFPs, Sources Sought) for alignment with Werfen’s products and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Government and GPO Accounts, Marketing, and Sales to support proposal development, including compliance review, document preparation, and timely submission.
  • Track and maintain proposal status, amendments, responses, and clarifications throughout the bid cycle.

Government & GPO Analytics & Reporting

  • Support analytics related to pricing, contract utilization, and rebate performance.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and presentations for internal decision making and external compliance.
  • Produce recurring and ad hoc reporting on contract performance, sales volume, opportunities, and risk areas.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to support documentation for renewals, extensions, and compliance reviews.

Communications & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Sales, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution of government and GPO strategies.
  • Provide monthly communication updates to internal teams regarding government- and GPO related initiatives, changes, and compliance requirements.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The analyst will serve as a key point of coordination to support contract execution, pricing alignment, proposal development, compliance needs, and timely communication across business units.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience for the position:


Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., NCMA CPCM, DAU CON) preferred.


Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales Support, Business Development, or Sales Analytics, ideally with experience working with GPOs and/or the government.

  • Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, VA FSS Schedule, GSA MAS, and IDIQ/BPA frameworks.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, database management, and reporting; experience with Salesforce, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and cross functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation skills; customer facing and sales support experience highly desirable.

Management has the discretion of substituting relevant work experience for a degree and/or making exceptions to the years of experience requirement.


Skills & Capabilities:


Successful candidates will bring strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex contract details, deadlines, and cross-functional inputs. The role requires advanced Excel and reporting capabilities, sound business judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data and contract requirements into clear, actionable insights.


Travel requirements:


Up to 20% of travel required. Travel may include attendance at trade shows, customer meetings, internal business reviews, field sales meetings, or cross-functional planning sessions.


The annual base salary range for this role is currently $115,000 to $150,000 range. Individual employee compensation will ultimately depend on factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and particular business needs.


This role is eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k plan retirement benefits with an employer match, as well as paid vacation and sick leave. Our sales roles are eligible for participation in a commission plan and our management, and select professional roles, are eligible for a performance-based bonus.
