Job Responsibilities:
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Workforce Development and Training Intern will support compliance reporting for awarded grants and incentives programs aimed at enhancing employee skills and organizational efficiency at Magna operation units. The position will offer an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in program development, project coordination and data analysis within the workforce development field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support workforce & training reporting activities, monthly, quarterly to ensure division follows State, Federal or local government agencies under the guidance of mentors, colleagues, and other Advisors at the organization.
  • Gather information by observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources to inform project components and deliverables.
  • Analyze business or financial data.
  • Communicate with Supervisors, Colleagues, Magna Operation Units, and Peers by providing information using various means of communication (e.g., telephone, written form, e-mail, or in-person.)
  • Analyze data or information by identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts by breaking down data or information into separate parts.
  • Think creatively by developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, under the direction of Supervisors, Colleagues, or other Advisors.
  • Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships by developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some related experience preferred


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma
  • Currently Attending a College or University in the field of Polical Science or related discipline.


SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Active Listening. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to solve problems and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Critical Thinking. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Reading Comprehension. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
