Leads Trade and Working Capital Operations execution and governance in Shanghai. Responsibilities include strategic priority execution, governance framework development, project and risk oversight, KRI reporting, headcount and financial planning, audit deliverables, management communications, stakeholder coordination, and team leadership. The role supports product, technology, sales, client service, compliance, and audit partners while driving operational controls and remediation initiatives.

Trade & Working Capital focuses on developing & delivering business solutions related to Trade Finance products offered by banks, including transactions such as import & export bills, local and foreign bill collection, EBADD, Trade Loans, banker's acceptances/reimbursements, letters of credit and open account trading. The team also provides transactional-based expertise to the business to ensure accurate and timely conduct in accordance with ICC guidelines, bank procedures & trade finance policy manual. 

The team is seeking a high performing Vice President for Operations Execution and Governance role based out of Shanghai / China. 

  • Play a key role in formulating and executing strategic business priorities for Trade and Working Capital Operations and building a strong governance framework 
  • Monitor project status, drive regular governance meetings, communication and updates to senior management
  • Managing Headcount planning and review process along with key Financial targets for the organization
  • Develop schedules for monthly KRI reporting 
  • Navigating a matrix organization and providing leadership to achieve project objectives
  • Identifying project risks, effectively escalating and developing remediation plans
  • Administering communications for the Trade & working Capital Operations organization 
  • Organizing weekly management meeting, team meetings 
  • Performing any other ad hoc reporting/analysis and strategic projects
  • Support a wide range of stakeholders (Product, technology, Sales, Client service, Compliance, Internal Auditor)
  • Strong people management skills to motivate and upskill the team
  • Manage audit related deliverables 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 18-20 years of experience of working in a Financial Services industry and business knowledge on Trade products is preferred. Local trade products is a must.
  • Excellent attention to detail, and an ability to know when a deep dive approach is appropriate.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to anticipate issues and aggressively drive initiatives.
  • Leadership and staff development skills with prior team management experience.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with business and technical parts of the organization.
  • Can operate in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines and can prioritize one’s own and teams work to achieve them.
  • Ability to partner with demanding stakeholders, managing their expectations while developing strong working relationships with them.
  • Understanding of operational risks and related controls, audit and internal control framework.
  • Confidence to challenge, and be challenged, whilst remaining a positive ‘can-do’ outlook
