The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Global Product Marketer for the Aluminum Conductor Composite Reinforced (ACCR) portfolio, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.  ACCR is a premier high temperature low sag (HTLS) overhead conductor used in the electrical transmission and distribution market by power utilities around the world.  Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Drive strategic direction for the portfolio, develop strategies to maximize growth in balance with forecast and supply operations. 
  • Developing marketing and sales programs to achieve business unit sales objectives.  Work with Area teams on program execution considering Area and Regional end-user insights.
  • Actively drive pricing strategy and engage in detailed bid preparations.  Co-ordinate tender responses, review, and negotiation of T&C’s and other special requirements, where needed.
  • Researching and analyzing market information and customer insights for trends and opportunities to guide decisions and set the portfolio’s strategic direction
  • Provide project management support as needed for significant customer projects and any special requirements when they arise.  Coordinating and aligning customer projects with demand and manufacturing supply side for big projects and the portfolio.
  • Managing all stages of the product life cycle, from concept through optimization and product rationalization
  • Assure seamless communication between functions (Sales, Lab, Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, Sourcing, Subsidiary).   Report-out portfolio performance, build financial and demand forecasts.
  • Working closely with R&D to clearly define differentiators between 3M products and those of competitors, as well as working closely with Business Supply Chain on cost reduction efforts
  • Manage new product efforts with cross-functional team.  Partner with R&D/Laboratory and Finance to develop realistic business cases that clearly define the risks, rewards, and resources needed.  Develop and implement effective new product launch plans that fully realize the opportunity in the market as quickly as possible.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of profit and loss business management experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Five (5) combined years of marketing, sales, strategy, and/or business development experience

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree of Business Administration (MBA) from an accredited university or possess expertise equivalent to that which would be obtained in a master’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, or Strategy
  • Five (5) combined years of marketing, sales, strategy, and/or business development experience
  • Strong analytical skills to use multiple sources of insights to develop strategy and operational plans
  • Experience leading global- and/or cross-functional teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

Work location:

  • Austin, TX, St. Paul, MN

Travel: May include up to 20% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $188,251 - $230,084, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
