The Global Indirects Procurement Manager is accountable for organizing, and optimizing the global indirect procurement spend ($160M+). The job holder will have an entrepreneurial mindset, driving commercial value, total cost of ownership (TCO) reductions and supply risk management across regional and local operations. Lead the strategic harmonization and consolidation of the supplier base while establishing standardized processes, and framework agreements as to maximize operational efficiency and ensure compliance.

Global Indirect Spends Procurement Manager

The Global Indirects Procurement Manager is accountable for organizing, and optimizing the global indirect procurement spend ($160M+). The job holder will have an entrepreneurial mindset, driving commercial value, total cost of ownership (TCO) reductions and supply risk management across regional and local operations. Lead the strategic harmonization and consolidation of the supplier base while establishing standardized processes, and framework agreements as to maximize operational efficiency and ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Global Indirect Procurement: FY > $ 160mio spend
  • Partner with local / regional / global indirect spend owners
  • Develop and execute global/regional category strategies (Utilities, Contractors, MRO, others).
  • Monitoring energy markets and preparing hedge strategies
  • Assess, monitor, and mitigate operational, financial, and supply chain risks within the indirect vendor base.
  • Reduce supplier fragmentation and harmonize vendors to maximize volume leverage and process efficiency.
  • Establish preferred suppliers and framework agreements.
  • Drive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to unlock value beyond the initial price negotiation
  • Governance & Enablement: Develop procurement standards and templates; influence regional teams and plant buyers.
  • Support and/or lead vendors meetings and coordinate requests.
  • Report KPI’s via KPI dashboard.

Autonomous Decisions:

  • Approving regional (category) strategies for MRO, Utilities, Contractors and others within agreed thresholds; determining the initial shortlist of preferred suppliers.

Consultative Decisions:

  • Final approval for global indirect framework agreements exceeding specific financial limits; overriding standard procurement policy for critical operational emergencies.

  • Stakeholder Management: Influencing without formal authority with local plant buyers,
  • -functional teams, and global owners.
  • Commercial Contracting & Negotiating: Crafting SLAs, framework agreements and getting the best cost for value.
  • Data Analytics: Interpreting complex spend data ($160M+).
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Experience with risk analysis and consolidating fragmented vendor bases.
  • Category Strategy Development: Proven experience creating and executing multi-year sourcing strategies for MRO, Utilities, and Contractors.
  • Experience with Energy sourcing and hedging.

  • Commercial Negotiation: Advanced negotiation techniques, master service agreements, and framework contracts.
  • IT skills: Hands-on proficiency with procurement software (e.g. JD Edwards, Zycus, Power BI, MS applications).
  • Advanced MS Excel: Fluid mastery of Excel (advanced formulas, Power Query, pivot tables) for rapid data cleansing and spend analysis.
  • Manufacturing Context: Direct understanding of industrial plant operations.

Additional Job Description

Position Requirements
  • 8+ years of progressive procurement experience, with a proven track record specifically in managing and structuring Indirect Procurement categories (Utilities, Contractors, MRO and others) across regional or global networks.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Business Analytics, or a related commercial/technical field.
  • Proven track record working within an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy-asset environment, demonstrating comfort collaborating directly with Plant Managers, Maintenance Engineers, and Operations Directors.
  • Strong stakeholder management
  • Experience in sourcing, negotiating and contracting
  • Data-driven mindset
  • Fluent English
  • Willingness to travel around 10-15%

Skills Required

  • 8+ years of progressive procurement experience, specifically managing and structuring indirect procurement categories across regional or global networks
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Business Analytics, or a related commercial or technical field
