About Platform Engineering

Platform Engineering (platformengineering.org) is home to the world's largest community of platform engineers. Through PlatformCon - one of the world's largest conferences dedicated to platform engineering - we bring together more than 50,000 engineers, technology leaders, and decision-makers every year to share ideas, showcase innovation, and shape the future of internal developer platforms.

As our community continues to grow, so does our global events programme. From flagship conferences and executive dinners to trade shows, customer events, and field marketing initiatives, our events are central to how we engage our community, partners, and customers around the world.

About the Role

We're looking for a Global Events Manager to join our growing team and help deliver exceptional events across Europe, North America, Australia, and beyond.

Working alongside our Events Manager and Managing Director, you'll play a key role in planning and executing world-class events while helping build the systems, processes, and operational foundations that enable our events program to scale.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, thrives in fast-paced environments, and naturally looks for smarter ways of working. You're as comfortable building scalable playbooks and operational workflows as you are delivering exceptional experiences on the ground. Over time, you'll take ownership of delivering events independently while continuing to collaborate closely across the wider team.

What you'll do
  • Partner with our existing Global Events Manager to plan and deliver conferences, trade shows, executive events, customer experiences, and field marketing initiatives around the world.

  • Coordinate end-to-end event logistics, working with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver consistently high-quality experiences.

  • Build and continuously improve the systems, playbooks, documentation, and workflows that make our events program more scalable and efficient.

  • Develop and maintain an organized network of venues, suppliers, production partners, and contractors across multiple regions.

  • Manage event budgets, procurement, inventory, timelines, and logistics across multiple concurrent projects.

  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Product, Creative, and Leadership teams to ensure seamless event delivery.

  • Measure event performance, attendee engagement, operational metrics, and ROI, using insights to continually improve future events.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through better tooling, automation, AI, and operational processes.

What you'll bring
  • Experience leading the planning and delivery of large-scale B2B conferences, trade shows, or events with 300+ attendees.

  • A systems-thinking mindset, with experience building scalable processes, operational workflows, or playbooks that improve how events are delivered.

  • Strong project management skills with experience managing budgets, vendors, suppliers, and multiple concurrent projects.

  • The ability to remain calm under pressure, adapt quickly, and make sound decisions when priorities change.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across cross-functional teams.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to take ownership while collaborating effectively with others.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, growing environment where you'll help shape how we operate as we scale.

  • Native-level English proficiency.

Nice to have
  • Experience working in B2B SaaS or delivering events for technical audiences.

  • An established network of venues, production partners, and suppliers across Europe and North America.

  • Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment.

  • Experience working with remote, globally distributed teams.

  • Familiarity with modern event technology, Airtable (or similar tools), CRM systems, workflow automation, and AI-powered tools.

Why join us?

Our events are at the heart of one of the fastest-growing communities in technology. You'll help deliver experiences that connect thousands of engineers and technology leaders around the world while helping build the operational foundations that will support the next stage of our growth.

If you're excited by the opportunity to combine world-class event delivery with systems thinking and continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you.
