Job Title:Global Engagement Program Assistant

Department:International Affairs | International Students and Scholars

This position provides program assistance to the Global Engagement team within the Office of International Affairs, which promotes international student success and global engagement opportunities for international and domestic students. The Program Assistant works collaboratively with the Global Engagement team to assist in the organization, promotion, coordination and implementation of activities designed to promote cultural exchange, awareness, and sense of belonging among international and domestic students. Duties include but are not limited to the responsibilities shown below.  The Program Assistant will be required to cover evening and weekend programs several times per month.


Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing and payment management, including gathering quotes, payment details, and documenting expenses in Workday
  • Management of the team’s email account
  • Supply management
  • Outreach and coverage of promotional tabling events
  • Securing room and bus reservations
  • Management of travel participant agreements for trips off campus
  • Event planning and implementation in coordination with other members of the Global Engagement team, including for International Student Orientation and OIA’s student leadership programs
  • Planning and leading social activities and trips off campus for international and domestic students
  • Other administrative and logistical support as assigned

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

Familiarity with Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)

Demonstrated interest in working with international students or individuals

Ability to carry out detailed work in a fast-paced environment

Availability for evening and weekend work

Comfort giving presentations to large groups and leading group activities

 

Desired Qualifications:

1-2 years of relevant experience

Experience with procurement processes in Workday

Experience communicating with non-native English speakers

Experience with event planning

Proficiency in a language or languages other than English

Experience with systems used at Ohio State, such as SIS, Workday and Qualtrics

Experience with budget management in the workplace

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, limited-term appointment of two years, with the possibility of a one-year extension (maximum three years total) based on exceptional performance and departmental needs.

The target hiring range for this job profile is $19.47- $25.00 The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
