The Opportunity 
As the Global Design Director you will be responsible for driving Culture Kings’ position as the undisputed global leader in streetwear by leading 1P product ideation, development, and release execution strategies in partnership with our global brand teams, ensuring seamless delivery from concept to market. You will leverage your creative expertise to continually innovate and challenge the status quo across product design, packaging, to creative marketing execution, amplifying compelling product storytelling across the Culture Kings platform. Your primary responsibilities include collaborating closely with merchandising and buying, design, production, marketing, ecommerce and retail teams to drive the ideation, development, and launch of products and campaigns throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee all creative aspects of product creation, development, and launch strategies for our global 1P brands. This includes a deep understanding of market demand, trend direction, the competitive landscape, product roadmaps, development timelines, and launch execution.
  • Champion the product and campaign lifecycle from the initial ideation through to complete GTM commercialisation.
  • Conduct seasonal product reviews and pre-lines aligned to the critical path calendar, collaborating cross functionally with merchandising, buyers and marketing teams to create seasonal product lines and campaign storytelling.
  • Partner with internal design teams and external vendors to execute creative concepts, color and material palettes, design details and packaging. 
  • Collaborate with sourcing and development to ensure margin targets are met and product is delivered with the expected quality.
  • Leverage the release calendar and Culture Kings platform to cultivate hype and demand, aligning with a full-price sales strategy over promotional discounts.
  • Understand market trends, the competitive landscape and our customers needs to innovate and build seasonal product lines, identify whitespace for new brands and product category opportunities.
  • Leverage the CK brand through 3rd party brand products, licensing and collaboration that creates genuine excitement, hype and magic moments for customers. 
  • Drive global trends and market leadership for Culture Kings by transforming innovative ideas into cultural moments.
  • Leverage multi-brand, multi-category curation to drive complete outfit sales via marketing channels, ecommerce and retail stores.

What you'll bring

  • Ability to see around corners as it relates to picking trends across all elements of street, music, and popular culture to ensure Culture Kings is always first.
  • Expert-level knowledge of fashion trends, the competitive landscape, and customer cohorts, specifically as they relate to Culture Kings' target customer demographics.
  • Creative eye for content and release strategies, and staying close to these trends as they develop in a dynamic digital and social landscape/ marketplace.
  • Ability to influence both internal teams and external vendors with certainty to champion your vision.
  • Strong ability to analyse sales data to inform decision making.
  • Demonstrate advanced leadership skills, identify and mentoring succession within your team.
  • Strong emotional resilience, with the capacity to remain composed, and solutions-focused in high-stakes situations.
