The Global Category Manager Logistics & Warehousing is responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies for logistics, transportation, and warehousing services. The role drives value through strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost optimization, and risk mitigation while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to improve service quality, resilience, innovation, and sustainable business performance.

This role is primarily based on site. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards. We offer flexibility to work remotely for no more than 20% of your time. Requests are considered on a case‑by‑case basis, in line with business needs.

What you will do:

  • Develop and implement global category and sourcing strategies for logistics, transportation, and warehousing services across regions and business units.

  • Lead strategic sourcing projects, competitive tenders, supplier negotiations, and contract management to deliver sustainable value and cost optimization.

  • Build and manage a robust savings pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting, tracking, and realization of procurement benefits.

  • Act as the global procurement subject matter expert for logistics and warehousing, providing market intelligence and strategic guidance.

  • Drive supplier selection, onboarding, performance management, and governance to improve service quality, resilience, innovation, and compliance.

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align category strategies with business needs, operational priorities, sustainability goals, and risk mitigation plans.

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement, digitalization, and process harmonization initiatives to enhance efficiency and transparency.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Significant experience in category management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management within logistics, transportation, and warehousing.

  • Strong negotiation, tendering, commercial contracting, and total cost of ownership analysis capabilities.

  • Solid understanding of logistics markets, freight modes, warehousing operations, Incoterms, service level agreements, and supplier performance management.

  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage complex global projects within a matrix organization.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in spend analysis, business case development, savings delivery, forecasting, and risk management.

  • Experience with procurement and sourcing systems such as SAP, Ariba, iCertis, or similar tools, combined with excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
