Reporting to the Accounting Assistant Manager, this GL Accountant is responsible for providing accurate preparation of information involving compilation, consolidation, and high level analysis of financial data necessary to produce financial statements for Deckers’ subsidiaries in APAC.
• Prepares monthly journal entries and maintains sufficient supporting work papers.
• Reconciles and analyzes balance sheet accounts on time and solving open items within proper time.
• Performs bank reconciliations.
• Ensure complete and accurate posting of balances from Oracle sub-ledgers including but not limited Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, and Oracle Retail, Sales Journals etc.
• Investigates unusual transactions, fluctuations and determines appropriate accounting treatment for income statement and balance sheet assignments in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
• Prepares month end accruals, including payroll, bonus, vacation, Marketing expenses, inventory, and prepaid expenses etc.
• Manage LUX (lease tool) and ensure lease assets and liability follow ASC 842 and IRFS 16/ASC840 JEs generated as well as data interfacing into AP/AR correctly.
• Support SOX compliance efforts.
• Researches information on inquiries related to department expenses for managers.
• Assist in Prepares departmental expenses including trend and budget versus actual analyses.
• Prepares reconciliation between US GAAP and Local GAAP and post proper adjustment if any.
• Prepares work paper containing account analysis and financial statement support information.
• Helps implement process improvements through high level analysis and collaboration.
• Develops special reports and ad-hoc analyses.
• Provide related documents for annual tax file required by tax team.
• Assists line manager to work with IT and other departments as necessary for continuous process improvement as well as any system issues.
• May work on ad hoc projects as it relates to the finance and accounting department.
• Assists with external auditors for U.S. GAAP and local statutory audit process.
