ABOUT THE POSITION

Job Title: GIPS Performance Reporting Analyst

Employment: Full Time

Location: New York or Seattle

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of performance and analytical data. Including understand the drivers and impacts of markets and other factors.
  • Demonstrate strong technical fundamentals for supporting performance computation and reporting. Including understanding how composites are constructed and what the technical and qualitative requirements for a GIPS compliant firm are.
  • Evaluate, quality control and manage the monthly performance reporting process. Including being able to describe and illustrate performance drivers, outliers and dispersion between composites, strategies and/or accounts qualitatively and quantitatively.
  • GIPS Performance analyst will have working knowledge of GIPS and composite membership rules and be able to provide process and standards advice regarding GIPS and composite maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to GIPS Compliance standards and keep up with new developments as they arise.
  • Work independently, with minimal guidance and act as a resource for colleagues on the GIPS Team and within the firm.
  • Support the production of accurate and timely reporting deliverables for the RFP, DDQ and Client Services Teams.
  • Perform data mining from multiple data sources, integrating and analyzing data sets.
  • Partner with verticals throughout the firm to assist with data accessibility.
  • Respond to internal and external ad-hoc questions.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • B.S in Business, Finance, Economics, or Statistics
  • 3-5 years as a data or reporting analyst or other relevant work experience.
  • Experience with GIPS Compliance standards
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to independently multi-task and deliver on deadlines and deliverables.
  • CIPM Certificate or Candidate preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail while still understanding the big picture.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to balance completing scheduled deliverables and ad hoc requests.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

SKILLSET EXPECTED

  • CIPM of similar certification. If not a holder of corresponding certificate, then extensive practical experience managing this function at a GIPS compliant asset manager
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and explain performance, performance contribution and attribution and distill the drivers impacting performance.
  • Strong analytical and data analysis and interpretation skills with a proven track record of working with large data sets and formulating interpretation and supporting others in creating corresponding narratives.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel proficiency using pivot tables, Match Index, H- & V-lookups, etc., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity of Power BI, SQL, VBA
  • Use of Capital IQ's portfolios tools a plus
  • Use of Northern Trust's platform (IOO, FA) huge plus
