- Provide expert guidance on geospatial data systems, methodologies, and tools supporting Census Bureau operations
- Develop, maintain, and enhance geographic information system (GIS) datasets and applications
- Support geographic boundary delineation, mapping, and spatial data validation efforts
- Perform spatial analysis to support demographic, economic, and population studies
- Ensure compliance with federal geospatial standards, including FGDC and Census geographic programs
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and IT teams to integrate geospatial data into enterprise systems
- Support modernization initiatives involving cloud-based GIS platforms and data automation
- Review and validate geospatial deliverables to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Provide technical documentation, reports, and briefings to stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Geospatial Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in geospatial analysis, GIS development, or related discipline
- Strong experience with GIS tools such as Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of Census Bureau geographic programs (e.g., TIGER/Line, MAF/TIGER database)
- Experience with spatial databases (PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle Spatial)
- Familiarity with Python, R, or other scripting languages for geospatial analysis
- Understanding of federal data standards and geospatial frameworks
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Prior experience supporting federal agencies or Census Bureau programs
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) for geospatial data processing
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
- Experience with big data geospatial processing and automation pipelines
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (or higher, if required)

Skills Required
