Geospatial Software Program Manager

LOCATION 
Concordia sulla Secchia, Modena, Italy 

WORKING MODEL 

Remote within Italy, with regular office visits after onboarding 

Shape the future of geospatial technology 

Topcon is looking for an experienced Geospatial Software Program Manager to lead complex, international software programs across surveying and positioning solutions. 

You will connect Product Management, Software Engineering, Firmware, Cloud Infrastructure, Quality Assurance, UX and business teams, translating customer needs, technical requirements and business priorities into successful program delivery. 

What you will do 

  • Lead end-to-end software programs, defining scope, objectives, milestones, schedules, deliverables and success criteria. 
  • Drive software release planning and execution, ensuring delivery against agreed priorities and commitments. 
  • Coordinate parallel workstreams across software, firmware, cloud, product, QA, UX and engineering teams. 
  • Manage dependencies across geospatial applications, GNSS technologies, correction services, cloud platforms and optical or scanner hardware. 
  • Identify program risks, issues and resource constraints, establishing effective mitigation and contingency plans. 
  • Lead program reviews, executive updates and critical issue escalations. 
  • Align globally distributed teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority. 
  • Strengthen Agile practices, program governance, delivery predictability and continuous improvement. 

What you bring 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geomatics, Geodesy, GIS, Surveying or a related discipline. 
  • At least 7 years of experience in technical project or program management, including 3 or more years leading cross-functional software programs. 
  • Proven experience managing large-scale software programs and concurrent initiatives in multinational engineering organizations. 
  • Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, Agile or Scrum methodologies, software architecture and modern development practices. 
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps or equivalent. 
  • Ability to coordinate complex software ecosystems involving multiple products, platforms and technical dependencies. 
  • Professional working English at intermediate level or above. 
  • Experience in geospatial, GIS, surveying, construction technology, precision agriculture or GNSS-related industries is highly desirable. 
  • PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, CSM, SAFe, cloud or geospatial certifications are an advantage. 

Working Conditions

  • We offer flexibility in how and where you work, including both remote and hybrid options.
  • To support collaboration and team connection, we ideally seek candidates who can travel to our Concordia office regularly, even if not on a daily basis

What we offer 

  • €55,000 to €65,000 gross annual salary, depending on skills and experience.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geomatics, Geodesy, GIS, Surveying, or a related field
