The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Develop the software that turns engineering design files into clean, structured training data for machine learning. Partner with researchers on how that data should be represented and how models consume it, and own the tooling that extracts, converts and validates the underlying solid geometry.
What you'll do
- Create fast, scalable data processing workflows that read design files in many formats and translate solid and parametric geometry into consistent representations for machine learning.
- Work directly inside geometry kernels to pull out, modify and analyze solid models through code.
- Collaborate with researchers on data representation and model design choices as both change over time.
- Develop automated tooling for extraction, encoding, reconstruction and verification across the whole workflow.
- Take the lead on gathering and curating datasets, depending on experience.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- PhD in computational geometry, physics, math or computer science.
- Strong C++ or Python skills for geometry processing.
- Solid grounding in computational geometry, including boundary representations and parametric geometry.
- Hands-on experience with a CAD or geometry kernel, plus knowledge of NURBS and solid modeling fundamentals.
- Domain background in design and manufacturing, aerospace or robotics.
- Experience working in a startup environment.
Bonus points
- Experience with a commercial geometry kernel.
- Degree from a top-ranked university.
