Generative AI Specialist and COE Lead

Country: Portugal

Location: Lisboa
 

Role Overview
We are seeking a Generative AI Specialist and COE Lead to develop and govern AI solutions. You will lead a team to design and implement advanced AI using technologies like OpenAI models and vector databases. Experience in building agents is essential.

You will also define governance frameworks, ensure alignment with organizational goals, address ethical considerations, and optimize AI integration into business processes. Collaboration with stakeholders is key for scalable and responsible AI adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and deployment of Generative AI solutions, leveraging tools like Azure OpenAI, vector databases, and related technologies.

  •  Manage and mentor a small team within the Generative AI Center of Excellence, fostering collaboration and innovation.

  •  Collaborate with business units to understand their needs and translate them into AI-driven solutions that add measurable value.

  •  Develop and implement governance policies to ensure responsible and ethical use of Generative AI technologies.

  •  Monitor advancements in Generative AI, identifying opportunities for the organization to stay at the forefront of innovation.

  •  Advocate for best practices in data preparation, vectorization, and AI model training to enhance solution accuracy and scalability.

  •  Provide strategic guidance and act as a subject matter expert on Generative AI to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (advanced degrees preferred).

  •  Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Spanish is a nice to have.

  •  Minimum of 8 years of professional experience, including significant hands-on experience in Generative AI technologies and frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain). Python, Docker, Git, CI/CD methodologies

  •  Proven ability to design, build, and optimize AI solutions using techniques to improve GenAI accuracy and performance.

  •  Strong leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring technical teams.

  •  Deep understanding of governance, ethical considerations, and risk management for AI applications.

  •  Familiarity with integrating AI solutions into enterprise systems and workflows.

  •  Proactive problem-solving skills and a passion for driving business transformation through AI.
