About the role:We are seeking an experienced General Ledger Accounting Manager to lead our general ledger team in a fast-paced, multinational environment. This leadership role will be responsible for overseeing the month-end close across select P&L and balance sheet areas, ensuring compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory requirements, strengthening internal controls, and driving continuous improvement. You will also lead Latvia’s statutory audit process and play a key role in process automation and efficiency initiatives.
Your Daily Tasks Will Entail:Lead and manage the General Ledger function, including payroll, fixed assets, inventory, accruals, reserves, and intercompany transactions.
Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting under US GAAP and local GAAP/IFRS.
Partner with auditors to manage statutory audit processes, including preparation and review of audit deliverables; support group audit.
Maintain and enhance internal controls, supporting SOX compliance and corporate governance standards.
Partner with cross-functional teams (Tax, Treasury, Operations, HR) to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing team, setting clear objectives and supporting professional growth.
Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to streamline the close process and reduce manual work.
Act as a subject matter expert on accounting policies and provide guidance to other teams on complex accounting issues.
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including broad general ledger experience across major P&L and balance sheet areas.
Strong technical knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and experience with statutory reporting.
Proven experience managing and developing internal controls.
Prior experience in a multinational, multi-entity, and multi-currency environment.
Excellent leadership skills with a track record of building and developing teams.
Strong analytical mindset with a passion for process improvement and automation.
Proficiency with ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance is a strong plus.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Monthly salary EUR 3600–4400 gross, depending on work experience, education, and skills
