The role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented General Ledger Accounting Manager to join our growing finance team at iR, a leading company in the metaverse space. As the General Ledger Accounting Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in a fast-paced, innovative, and virtual-first environment. You will play a key role in managing our financial operations and supporting the growth of our metaverse initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a deep understanding of financial reporting, and the ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
What you’ll do
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Work closely with internal teams to ensure that all financial data is accurate, timely, and aligned with company goals.
- Account Reconciliation: Manage account reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts, ensuring that discrepancies are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations, including automation opportunities, and ensure that the accounting system can scale with company growth in the metaverse industry.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and internal reviews.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as FP&A, tax, and legal to ensure financial transactions are correctly recorded and aligned with business operations.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring proper training, development, and performance management. Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and adaptability within the team.
- Metaverse Financial Operations: Collaborate with the metaverse development and digital assets teams to ensure accurate financial tracking of virtual assets, in-game transactions, NFTs, cryptocurrency, and other digital revenue streams.
- Month-End Close: Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is accurate and complete.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
- Experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP).
- Experience in a technology-driven or virtual environment.
- Proven ability to lead a team and work cross-functionally with other departments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Adaptability and a forward-thinking mindset in an evolving, digital-first landscape.
We’ll be extra pumped if you have
- CPA or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in the metaverse, gaming, or cryptocurrency industries is a plus.
Salary Range
$140,000—$160,000 USD
Base pay will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, certifications, experience, market demands, and locations.
