What’s the role?
- Chief Legal Officer: Majority’s main attorney and primary source of legal guidance
- Legal documentation: Oversee all in-house legal documentation and communication such as commercial agreements, customer Terms & Conditions, Investment Agreements and public statements
- Laws & regulations: Stay up to date and advise on local, state, and federal law as it pertains to employment law, consumer laws, data privacy, marketing, and our business and industry. Oversee the legal review procedures of the company.
- Legal Organization: Manage the internal legal department and assemble the right network of outside attorneys and counsel to complement the inhouse team
- Corporate governance: Oversee the ongoing corporate governance of the MAJORITY group
Who we’re looking for
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of the laws and regulations of the fintech industry in general and a fast scale up company in particular
- Experience navigating the judicial system within a network of local and international resources
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Proof of degree completion will be required.
- Admitted to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction. A current, active bar membership is required
- + 4 years practice with a top tier law firm, preferably followed by 2-5 years experience as a general counsel or a similar role
