What We Do
Common Ground Food Co-op is a cooperatively run, community-owned grocery store in Urbana, Illinois, owned by more than 9,000 local neighbors. It supports the local food system by emphasizing local and organic foods, conscious consumerism, and community building. Founded as a buyer’s club in 1974, it opened its first small store in 1984 and now serves the Champaign-Urbana community.
