Overview: State of Michigan engagement staffed through Stafford Gray. The client needs a cloud engineer who can operate in Google Cloud Platform while supporting integration with an existing Teradata data warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage GCP infrastructure (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, IAM, networking)
- Support integration and data movement between GCP and Teradata systems
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines
- Monitor cloud performance, cost, and security compliance
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and data pipeline issues
- Collaborate with data engineering and platform teams on modernization work
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Several years of hands on GCP experience
- Direct Teradata experience, ETL or data warehouse integration
- IaC and CI/CD tooling experience
- Strong Python or Bash scripting
Preferred Qualifications
- GCP certification (Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect)
- State or local government client experience
- Experience migrating off Teradata to a cloud native warehouse (e.g. BigQuery)
Skills Required
- Several years of hands-on Google Cloud Platform experience
- Direct Teradata experience, including ETL or data warehouse integration
- Infrastructure as code and CI/CD tooling experience
- Strong Python or Bash scripting skills
