Position Overview
The GCC Internship provides a hands-on, well-rounded experience designed to introduce interns to the many functions within a farmer-owned cooperative. Interns will gain exposure to multiple divisions—Grain, Agronomy, Petroleum, and Administration—while building professional skills and developing a strong understanding of how a cooperative operates. Along the way, interns will be paired with mentors, engage with senior leadership, and gain experience with industry-specific software and tools.
This internship is structured in two phases:
- Spring 2027 – Skill Up (Part-Time, Remote): Professional development and project-based work.
- Summer 2027 – Show Out (Full-Time, On-Site in Garden City): Hands-on experience across GCC divisions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal intern is detail-oriented, curious, and eager to learn. Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills are essential, along with comfort using technology. An agricultural background is helpful but not required.

- Basic understanding of accounting and data analytics (preferred).
- Willingness to learn company-specific systems and processes.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and in team settings.
Key Responsibilities
Spring 2027 (Remote, Part-Time):
- Participate in the Skill Up Spring program focused on career readiness and professional development.
- Support projects in basic data entry, reporting, event planning, and marketing.
- Collaborate on initiatives that prepare for the summer internship experience.
Summer 2027 (On-Site, Full-Time in Garden City):
- Rotate through Grain, Agronomy, Petroleum, and Administration to gain a broad view of cooperative operations.
- Shadow staff, attend customer meetings, and assist with day-to-day operations.
- Take on projects such as working the scale during harvest to learn grain flow and accounting processes.
