- Collaborate with developers to design and implement GaussDB databases, schemas, tables, and other objects.
- Ensure logical and physical data models support application requirements.
- Monitor database performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
- Optimize queries, indexing strategies, and data storage mechanisms for high throughput.
- Implement and enforce database security policies and compliance standards.
- Manage user roles, access permissions, and auditing controls.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, backups, and restores.
- Implement backup strategies including point-in-time recovery and data archiving.
- Resolve database issues, log incidents, and provide technical support to internal teams.
- Maintain documentation of DB operations and procedures.
- Set up and manage alerts for performance, availability, and security anomalies.
- Use monitoring tools to ensure system stability and responsiveness.
- Analyze usage patterns and forecast future storage/performance needs.
- Plan and execute database scaling and version upgrades.
- Handle data migration and synchronization across systems.
- Ensure data integrity and compatibility during integrations.
Strong understanding of GaussDB distributed architecture (coordinator nodes, data nodes, GTM).
Proficiency in SQL: complex query writing, optimization, and scripting.
Experience with Linux/Unix environments for deployment and DB management.
Proven experience in database performance tuning and resource optimization.
Knowledge of security best practices, access controls, and compliance standards.
Solid background in backup and recovery strategies, including point-in-time recovery.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Experience in data migration, ETL processes, and system integration.
