Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a Board Eligible / Board Certified Gastroenterology Hospitalist to join our established practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Practice Highlights:

  • Cover one hospital location in the Albuquerque metro area 
  • Expected work schedule: 2 weeks per month, including weekends, primarily proceduralist role for inpatients with ambulatory patients in the morning.
  • APP support for consultations
  • Anesthesia support and dedicated endoscopy suite
  • No need to admit or discharge patients as that is performed by the Medicine Hospitalist team
  • System-Wide EPIC EMR

Responsibilities:
*Makes all professional medical judgments in the care of patients seen.
*Manages and oversees the physician/patient relationship.
*Participates in system-wide health management initiatives.
*Provides input into the practice site s financial, clinical, and service quality performance; budget; capital plan; and personnel issues.
*Assists in the development and implementation of clinical and service standards.
*Receives and resolves patient complaints.
*Participates in the recruitment and replacement of other providers.
*Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in-services, and workshops.
*Performs other functions as required.

Skills Required

  • M.D. or D.O.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology
  • Ability to work procedural inpatient gastroenterology schedule (2 weeks/month including weekends)
  • Experience working with EPIC electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Proficiency in inpatient endoscopic procedures (proceduralist role)
