Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a dedicated and skilled Gastroenterologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln. The Hospital is part of NYC Health + Hospitals. Lincoln is a designated Level I Trauma and Stroke Center and has Centers of Excellence in all medical specialties including its award- winning Cancer and Breast Centers. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Weill Medical College of Cornell University to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

  • Diagnosing and treating GI disorders including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and other digestive diseases
  • Providing advice on diet and nutrition to patients and referring them to registered dietitians as needed
  • Performing endoscopic procedures, such as ERCPs, colonoscopies, sigmoidoscopies, upper endoscopies, duodenoscopies, gastroscopies, and barium swallows
  • Conducting research to advance knowledge about gastrointestinal diseases and treatments
  • Prescribing medications to treat digestive disorders and performing surgery to remove polyps or other abnormalities in the colon or rectum
  • Performing diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and stool tests to determine the cause of a patient’s symptoms
  • Participating in continuing education activities to maintain professional certification
  • Referring patients to specialists if further diagnostic testing or treatment is needed
  • Providing medical care to patients with chronic diseases, such as diabetes or hypertension, to manage symptoms and prevent complications
Qualifications
  • Completion of Fellowship Training Program in Gastroenterology 
  • Expertise in performing endoscopic and colonoscopy procedures
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Gastroenterology
  • Proficiency in X-rays, MRIs, and ultrasound scanning 
  • Current licensed NY State registration (or the ability to obtain one)
  • High attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to maintain high standards

This position offers an attractive compensation & benefits package; excellent work/life balance; clinical research and teaching opportunities; flexible starting date and schedule; reasonable call schedule.

Wages and Benefits include:

Annual Base Salary: $361,000* (Board Eligible) $371,000* (Board Certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $491,520** (Board Eligible) $501,520** (Board Certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
  • 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
    • Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
    • After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
  • Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
  • Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.
  • Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you.
    • Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family.
  • Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.
  • Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
  • Pre-tax employee-paid contributions for commuting expenses. 
  • Visa sponsorship will be considered for this position.
