Game Programmer

Something Wicked Games is a new studio founded by creative and leadership talent behind some of the world’s best role-playing games including Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and The Outer Worlds. We are creating a moving, impactful game in a collaborative, creatively autonomous environment. We are fully remote.
 
Something Wicked Games is currently developing Wyrdsong, a preternatural RPG set in a semi-historical Middle Ages Portugal. We are a full remote studio looking for team members who are adventurous, confident, and purposeful. 

Game Programmer (All Levels) 

We are looking for a game programmer to join our team. In this role you will be implementing various game mechanics that will define our next RPG.

You will work closely with game designers, artists and others to build game mechanics within Unreal Engine 5. 

Responsibilities 

• Work closely with game designers to implement game functionalities
• Analyse and write technical designs of features to be implemented
• Break down game design requirements into reusable generic functionalities 
• Work with systems programmers to achieve best performance 
• Write robust and tested code for long term maintainability 
• Participate in technical design and code reviews 

Minimum Requirements 

• Extensive modern C++ experience and use of best practices 
• Developed one or more games using Unreal Engine 4 or 5 
• Strong 3D mathematics knowledge 

Pluses 

• 4+ years of C++ development experiences 
• Worked on one or more AAA games
• Published one or more games on consoles 
• Specialization in one of these areas: gameplay, AI, graphics, etc.
• Good knowledge of other programming languages
• Worked on role playing games 
• Enjoy playing video games
