The Automotive Electrification and Sustainable Energy BU's purpose is to engineer a decarbonized, cleaner, and a more sustainable electrified future. With the accelerated on-boarding of renewable power generation sources over the next 20 years, there is a simultaneous requirement to stabilize the energy grid with the rapid addition of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). In recognition of this fast-accelerating opportunity, the Sustainable Energy BU has a group focused specifically on delivering products and solutions to the BESS market.
To build out the BESS team, the Sustainable Energy BU is looking to fill several important positions with people who will be key to the success of this group.
The Role
The Sustainable Energy BU has identified the need for a highly motivated Applications Engineer to support product design wins and develop and support battery management system solutions for energy storage systems. The Applications Engineer will collaborate closely with customers and others to develop system solutions for the application and is a critical contributor in winning business and accelerating revenue.

This role has a special focus on BESS solutions regarding battery management, pack development & test, performance and power analysis at system level and enhancing system reliability.

Develop your technical expertise such that you are considered by colleagues and customers as a applications expert in Energy Storge.

Identify emerging technology trends and translate these into product proposals that drive the development of ADI’s business and technology roadmaps.

Develop system level hardware, software and supporting collateral as required.

Work with marketing on customer engagement.
-
Create reference designs and platforms aligned to strategic applications.
-
Clearly communicate to internal and external stakeholders including customers, partners, team members, and collaborating ADI teams.

Build and share technical and application expertise across ADI’s systems applications teams.
Requirements
Strong candidates will have the following attributes, experience, and qualifications:
Must Haves:
-
A BS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or similar qualification,
-
A masters of engineering is preferred
-
You must have strong problem-solving skills and be proficient in capturing, interpreting, and presenting data, both in-person and through written technical reports.

You must be able to employ solutions thinking and
-
demonstrate proficiency in electronic circuit design, particularly at PCB level, with a background of hands-on technical applications work.

You must be a demonstrated team player with great communication skills.
Highly Desirable:

You have knowledge with battery management systems (BMS) covering any of cell and pack measurement, power management, communications and processing, control, and battery state algorithms.

You have knowledge in electronic circuit design with experience in analog, microcontrollers and writing embedded code.

You are available to travel for customer and partner meetings as required.
