Fundamental Equity Researcher

Your future role within QRT

As a Fundamental Investment Research Analyst, your role will be to conduct fundamental research and analysis on companies, sectors, themes, markets, and event situations across the APAC region and internationally, including the US. 

You will:

• Conduct thorough and detailed analysis of financial and other data to evaluate the performance of companies, examining and interpreting data from different angles to gain a comprehensive understanding of a company’s financial situation;
• Prepare financial models to predict future financial performance, prepare written research reports on investment assessments, and provide investment recommendations to fund managers, traders, and other internal stakeholders;
• Collaborate with other internal stakeholders to provide fundamental research input and overlay in support of other strategies across the firm;
• Stay updated with the current economic trends, industry developments, and government regulations that may impact areas of focus, and regularly meet with company managements to better understand their business strategies and prospects;

Your present skillset:

• Excellent education and academic record;
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in investment banking, sellside investment research, or as a buyside investment analyst;
• Sound foundational understanding of corporate finance, financial products and markets; willingness to learn and be coached;
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
• An enthusiastic self-starter, high-energy, with a proactive “roll up one’s sleeves” approach and able to thrive in high-paced environments;
• Coding skills required in at least one leading programming language (Python, R, Matlab and /or C++, C#)
• Ability to work with autonomy within a collegial and collaborative environment
• Excellent communication skills, who enjoys interacting with colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds and expertise
• Fluent in English; knowledge of one additional language (Japanese, Mandarin and/or Korean) preferred.
