Job Purpose (Job Summary): The Fund Tax team is responsible for analyzing tax positions and determining the distributable income of Invesco’s funds and preparing their tax returns according to regulatory requirements. The team plays a critical role in supporting initiatives undertaken by Invesco by advising on tax issues impacting the funds. The team also performs HST blended rate calculations and SLFI return filings. Additionally, the team provides tax technical support to new market openings and tax reclaim processes for the funds, and appointing tax advisors in foreign countries.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Fund Tax, the Tax Analyst is responsible for providing support to the Fund Tax department, developing and maintaining of Excel-based models for the oversight of distributions and regulatory reports for mutual fund trusts, mutual fund corporation funds, pooled fund trusts and exchange traded funds and for limited investment partnerships. The position is also responsible for supporting on-going fund tax compliance functions.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Maintain Excel-based models for the oversight of distributions and regulatory reports for Invesco’s funds
- Prepare oversight calculations and documentation for the distribution calculations, reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Prepare oversight calculations and documentation for the annual fund tax returns and related schedules that are prepared by the external service provider
- Prepare and update process documentation
- Assist in preparing materials for presentation to senior management, the Audit Committee and the Fund Board
- Compile tax related information for sales and marketing materials, as required, including the preparation and dissemination of factor publications
- Participate in special projects and other duties, as assigned
Work Experience / Knowledge:
- Minimum two years of practical business experience (within the financial services industry preferred)
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products required
- Knowledge of fund accounting and fund reporting preferred
- Experience with Corporate and Trust income tax returns would be an asset

Formal Education:
- University degree required, preferably in a relevant field (or equivalent work experience)
- Completion or enrollment in an accounting designation program an asset
