About the Role

Willow Wealth is seeking a Fund Accounting Manager to join the Athens team responsible for the accounting and finance functions of the Willow Wealth Funds. The role will be based in our Services Hub in Athens, Greece and will report to the Senior Fund Controller in New York, US. This role is for someone who has experience in accounting and financial reporting, with the ability to apply relevant investment company accounting rules.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review monthly / quarterly / annual reporting packages prepared by the external fund administrator, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP across individual offerings
  • Review and ensure accuracy and consistency of audited financial statements, including footnotes and supporting disclosures across over 100 funds
  • Review operating and debt agreements to ensure that fees and interest are recorded appropriately
  • Draft fund financial statements including footnote disclosures
  • Oversee the external fund administrator's daily and monthly transaction activity, reviewing for accuracy and completeness. Provide guidance and clarifications on the nature of the transactions and how they should be recorded
  • Perform detailed reviews and reconciliations of management fee calculations, expense allocations, and intercompany transactions
  • Proactively identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and inefficiencies; drive improvements and implement scalable solutions
  • Document key processes, internal controls, workflows and implement changes to align with best industry practices across daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting and operational activities
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships across Finance, Operations, Investments, Legal, Compliance, Tax, auditors, and external service providers
  • Take ownership of assigned deliverables while contributing to broader accounting and operational initiatives
  • Support year-end tax processes, including coordination of Forms 1099 and K-1
  • Respond to investor inquiries and prepare ad hoc analyses and reporting as needed
  • Work with the external auditors and ensure that support is provided timely

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of accounting experience in public accounting and/or investment management
  • Big Four background preferred, with US GAAP experience a strong plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Economics. Master's or equivalent degree in a relevant field, ACCA qualified, or equivalent local qualification
  • Strong understanding of private equity and/or real estate fund structures, partnership accounting, and relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Financial reporting background with experience drafting footnotes and preparing/reviewing financial statement packages
  • Working knowledge of investment company accounting under ASC 946
  • Experience with account reconciliations and analytical review
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, assess root causes, and drive resolution
  • Strong problem-solving skills with both tactical execution and strategic thinking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
