We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Fund Accounting Associate to join our Mutual Fund Accounting team. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience in financial services, with a strong understanding of investment accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and industry best practices.

Strong analytical and communication skills are needed due to the high level of interaction with both internal stakeholders and external partners.  The individual must be willing to engage in the details and have a hands-on approach.  The role will also work closely with members of the compliance and legal teams.


Responsibilities:

Familiar with the mutual fund operations, SEC rules and related testing with emphasis on:

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements.
  • Assist with review of tailored shareholder reports for the firms proprietary mutual funds.
  • Support regulatory filings (N-PORT, N-CEN, etc.) as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC and other regulatory requirements.

 

Board Reporting & Governance

  • Prepare and review materials for quarterly and annual Board of Directors meetings.
  • Assist with presentations and data analyses for trustees and senior management.
  • Track and report on key operational, financial, and regulatory matters impacting the funds.

 

Assist with data gathering, monitoring, and reporting related to derivatives usage and compliance with 18f-4 requirements.

  • Derivatives: Knowledge of various structures (e.g. Futures, Options OTC), and experience with related regulations and testing requirements.
  • Support the Derivatives Risk management program in preparing reports and analysis for Board oversight.
  • Maintain documentation and testing records in accordance with SEC regulations.
  • Assist with compliance with Rule 22e-4 and liquidity risk SEC requirements.

 

Controls & Oversight

  • Perform variance analysis and exception reporting to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Support audits by helping prepare schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Valuation – Experience with pricing vendor oversight and due diligence
  • Liquidity Management
  • Must be familiar with the following security/position types and associated trade workflows:
    • Equities: U.S. and International
    • Fixed Income: U.S. and International
    • Foreign Exchange
  • Mutual Fund Accounting and Administration including service provider oversight
    • Mutual Fund Expense process
    • Transfer Agent workflow
    • Reconciliation – Knowledge of reconciliation process and issue resolution

 

Qualifications:

  • BA / BS required - Finance / Accounting preferred
  • 2-to-5-years’ relevant experience in Financial Services with emphasis on Accounting, Compliance, and Operations
  • Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel
  • Experience mapping/re-engineering business/process flows
  • Data Analysis expertise a plus
  • CPA a plus but not required

The base salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year. This range reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. In addition, this position may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, and other compensation programs as applicable. Eligible employees may participate in a 401(k) program with a generous profit-sharing contribution, medical, prescription dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; disability coverage; paid holidays; vacation; and sick time, subject to plan terms and Company policies.
