Your role
As the Functional Safety & Cybersecurity Manager at Munich Electrification, you are the technical authority and central driving force for the safety, security, and compliance of our highly innovative products. In this key role, you will be responsible for a specific project from conception through to release, ensuring that our electric powertrains and energy storage systems meet the highest standards of Functional Safety (ISO 26262, ISO 13849) and Cybersecurity (ISO 21434).
You will act as the process-owning interface between systems, hardware, and software engineering. You will not only manage the artifacts and analyses but also serve as the primary point of contact for all audits and assessments that ensure your project's success.
Your future tasks at a glance
Strategic Planning: Create, maintain, and oversee the Safety Plan and Cybersecurity Plan for your assigned project.
Analysis & Definition: Lead and review detailed safety and security analysis activities (e.g., FMEA, FTA).
Requirements Management: Define the functional and technical safety requirements, as well as the functional and technical cybersecurity requirements, for the project.
Collaboration: Work closely with technical experts in systems, hardware, and software engineering to ensure the correct and efficient implementation of safety and security concepts.
Compliance Management: Oversee the creation and collection of all work products required to demonstrate full compliance.
Release Responsibility: Compile and finalize the Safety Case and Cybersecurity Case to provide a robust argument for the product's release.
Interface: Act as the main point of contact for all project-specific audits and assessments.
What you bring with you
Education: A university degree in Engineering or a comparable technical field.
Technical Expertise: In-depth, practical knowledge of ISO 26262 and ISO 21434 standards. Experience with ISO 13849 is a strong advantage.
Industry Experience: Proven experience applying these standards, ideally in the context of Battery Management Systems (BMS) or similar high-voltage automotive systems.
Methodology: Proficiency in common analysis techniques (e.g., FMEA, FTA).
Mindset: A meticulous, detail-focused, and process-oriented mindset, combined with a strong commitment to quality.
Soft Skills: Exceptional documentation skills and strong stakeholder management abilities to clearly communicate and align on technical requirements.
