Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.
In addition to great shows and movies, our membership now includes exclusive access to a growing portfolio of high-quality games. The Game Lifecycle Engineering team builds the systems, tools and capabilities that make Netflix the easiest place for anyone to create, launch, and operate high‑quality games at scale. Our work supports the entire lifecycle of games, from onboard to sunset, at Netflix scale.
This role is key to how we build the tools and experiences that game developers rely on - from developer-facing web applications to cross-platform desktop tooling. You'll help build and set direction for how the tools and the shared services behind them come together into a cohesive developer experience. You will excel if you are comfortable with the ambiguity that comes with innovation, can deliver scalable technical solutions, remove technical debt, influence and make strategic decisions for long-term effectiveness, and approach problems with a curiosity-driven lens.
Our ideal candidate is a full-stack engineer, who collaborates across teams extremely well, thinks beyond implementation details, can empathize with fellow developers, challenges assumptions, and helps shape the "why" behind what we build. They should bring a strong perspective on product direction, code reuse, and design, not just execution, and be comfortable working at the intersection of user experience, design, and modern web application development across both web and desktop.
What will you do:Drive new technical solutions across teams, from system design to deployment.
Make impact across all layers of the software stack: backend services, insights systems, UI component libraries, documentation, or integration with other applications.
Revamp and update existing tools and services for integration into developer workflows.
Work with other software engineering teams, product management, and stakeholders across Netflix to gather insights, identify opportunities, and define solutions that will scope and shape our decisions.
Operate in a cross-functional and dynamic environment where you will collaborate and learn with stunning colleagues from a variety of technical domains and backgrounds to achieve the common goal of entertaining the world.
Participate in our support and on-call rotation and lead the incident reviews.
Proven professional experience with a track record of owning complex features from ideation to deployment.
Back-end excellence: expertise in building the backends behind the UI and designing clean, well-documented APIs that integrate with platform services. Familiarity with a backend language like Java, Go, or Python is a plus.
Robust front-end engineering: proficiency in frontend with a deep understanding of state management and the ability to build reusable component libraries that ensure consistency across tools. Experience working with design systems is a plus.
You're comfortable operating what you build, not just shipping it.
Adaptability: proven ability to master in-house frameworks and services, finding ways to leverage and extend them to create high-leverage solutions.
Curiosity and selflessness: bridging the gap between teams, prioritizing outcomes and impact in an ambiguous environment.
Passion for developer experience: you care about the engineers who use what you build, and you can take a feature from idea to a well-designed, intuitive UI, that works well with agents.
Experience with AI, AI coding tools and agents in day-to-day development/activites.
Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates. If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner.
