Sr Automation Tester

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

To be successful as a Sr Automation Tester, you should have experience with:

• Design and develop scalable automation frameworks (Selenium, BDD/TDD, Cucumber, API automation).
• API automation using Rest Assured, Postman, Karate, or similar tools.
• Strong programming proficiency in Java, Python, or similar languages.
• Build reusable automation assets and accelerate regression execution.
• Drive automation-first quality engineering practices.

• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Promote shift-left testing and continuous quality practices.
• Improve test execution efficiency, reliability, and release confidence.

Drive adoption of modern engineering and AI-assisted testing capabilities

• Strong knowledge of:
  • Selenium and BDD frameworks
  • SQL/PL-SQL
  • API and integration testing
  • Unix/Linux
  • Jenkins, Git, DevOps tools
  • Test management tools such as Jira and Quality Center
• Ability to troubleshoot complex testing and environment issues.

3. Test Strategy & Delivery Leadership

• Define and own end-to-end test strategy, test plans, and quality approach.
• Lead SIT, ST, OAT, UAT support, and regression testing activities.
• Ensure quality outcomes across complex business and technology changes.
• Provide delivery governance, RAID management, and release readiness assessments.

• Identify and mitigate testing risks early.
• Ensure audit readiness, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
• Drive defect prevention and root-cause analysis.
• Establish quality metrics and continuous improvement mechanisms.

• Manage engagements across Development, Business Analysis, Product, Operations, and Testing teams.
• Influence decision-making through data-driven quality insights.
• Effectively communicate risks, dependencies, and quality status to senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate multiple global teams and vendors where required.
