About Us

Equipe is revolutionizing how customer data is managed in the sports and entertainment industries, empowering organizations to activate their data and unlock new revenue. Believe it or not, many large organizations (e.g. college athletic departments, pro sports teams) in the space have little to no visibility into their customer data. If someone buys a ticket with their ticketing provider, a jersey from their merch website, and watches team content online, organizations have no way of knowing all three actions were the same person, let alone any ability to analyze that data.

Our mission is to solve that problem by allowing non-technical users to pull valuable insights about their customer data simply by asking questions, the same way they would search for an answer on google or with ChatGPT.

Working at Equipe means you’ll get to work on the cutting-edge of customer data technology with the potential to eventually revolutionize not just sports, but a wide range of industries in the future. We’re bring silicon-valley level technology to an industry that has never truly had it before.

We have already built and continue to develop many exciting features at Equipe, including a comprehensive integrations toolkit (data replication, ETL pipelines, etc.), a fully configurable Master Data Management (MDM) system, our own custom query language for interacting with platform data, AI-powered assistants that help customers extract insights and act on them, and a suite of visualization and user analysis tools, with much more on the horizon.

You’ll have the opportunity to build high-impact features that are immediately leveraged by some of the biggest brands in sports and entertainment, helping them modernize their data capabilities and unlock deeper insights. If you're a sports junkie like us, and have a desire to work on cutting-edge technologies rather than some of the outdated tech that is typical in this industry, this is the perfect role to merge both worlds.

Right now, you would be joining Equipe at a major inflection point. We’re growing extremely quickly, including having the 2 largest clients in our industry and tripling our ARR in the past 2 months.

The Role

We are seeking a talented Full-Stack Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll work across Equipe’s tech stack to build and scale our platform, contributing directly to core features that shape the future of the company. As an early employee, you’ll collaborate directly with our CTO on a regular basis for feature planning, implementation, and more. You will also be expected to work directly with clients on occasion, to help them with onboarding and setting up integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and deploy scalable and secure full-stack applications. You will regularly contribute to core features of Equipe’s platform.
  • Work on AI-driven features, including intelligent data insights, customer-facing AI assistants, and autonomous agents.
  • Work with React, Next.js, and TypeScript on the frontend to create intuitive UIs.
  • Build robust backend services using Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, and more.
  • Design and optimize APIs and data pipelines for high-performance querying and analysis.
  • Build and improve Equipe’s integrations with third-party platforms.
  • Interface with clients to help with onboarding and configuring integrations.
  • Implement best practices for DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure. Equipe is built on AWS, so familiarity with AWS and Cloud Development Kit is a plus.
  • Contribute to significant architectural decisions and technical roadmap planning.

Ideal Qualifications

Here at Equipe, we do not believe in requiring a specific number of years of qualification, a certain level of degree, or any of the other similar nonsense. We’re simply looking for the following:

  • You are bright, a great problem solver, and a fast learner. This is the most important qualification. We believe in recruiting superstars rather than a highly specific set of skills.
  • We work on challenging problems on a daily basis at Equipe. Your work will rarely be obvious and straight forward. If that excites you, then you’re a great fit for this role.
  • You have at least some background in software engineering (doesn’t need to be a job), so we aren’t starting completely from scratch. We are still a startup and we operate at a very high pace. Basic knowledge about the following is important: SQL Databases and writing SQL, backend engineering, frontend, and cloud/infrastructure.
    • NOTE: This doesn’t disqualify new grads. If you’re talented, we believe in giving you a shot.
  • You take pride in your work. We care about delivering a first class product to our customers. One of our favorite benchmarks is: would you attach your name publicly to your work?
  • BONUS: Our team is full of massive sports fans. This is a company where talking about the scores from the day before is completely acceptable. In fact, we encourage it. Given the industry we’re in, we love it when our team members feel the same way!

What We Offer

Enough of what we want from you. Let’s talk about the things we offer in return:

  • For in-person candidates
    • We’re located in a modern office space El Segundo, right in the heart of the South Bay of Los Angeles, just a few minutes from beach. We’re only a few minutes from the 405, so commuting from outside of the South bay is also easy
    • Office benefits including coffee and healthy snacks
    • We also believe that you have to feel your best to perform your best. This is why we also offer membership at the Bay Club, the South Bay’s nicest gym, also conveniently located right across the street from the office
    • We’re biased, but we feel we’re located in an amazing place to live in work. We think you’ll love it too
  • Flexible work environment —> We treat our team members like adults. We believe collaborative work is essential to building a great product, but we also know you need time to take care of everything life brings outside of work.
    • We aim to be in the office 2-3 days per week.
    • We are open to offering remote work for the right candidate
  • Competitive pay
    • Salary Range: $140k-200k depending on qualifications and fit for the role
    • Stock compensation (dependent on the same factors)
  • We expect hard work, not hard hours. When you’re on the clock we expect focus and high quality work, but we do not expect you to not have a life.
  • The chance to work on meaningful features and grow in your career. We trust our team members with critical tasks and we are currently shipping new features every single week.
  • The opportunity to work on an exciting, cutting-edge product with direct industry impact.
  • And of course, for those of you who are sports fans, we can often get ticket access to games!
