What Are The Responsibilities?
Who You Are
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Javascript and Bash
- Proficient in automated provisioning tools such as Terraform, Ansible and Cloudformation
- Proficient in the use of AI augmented development tools and workflows
- Proficient in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP and Azure
- Proficient in data pipeline platforms such as Nifi , Pentaho and Apache Arrow
- Proficient in containerization technologies such as Docker Swarm, Kubernetes and AWS ECS
- Proficient in message passing technologies such as RabbitMQ, Google Pub/Sub and Amazon SQS
- Proficient in SQL databases such as postgres, MySQL and Amazon RDS
- Proficient in data caching technologies such as Memcached and Redis
- Proficient in web application development frameworks such as nodejs , react and flask
- Experienced in 3rd party API and service integration
- Experienced in automated testing
- Experienced in REST API development and debugging
- Experienced in GraphQL API development and debugging
- Experienced in data serialization formats such as protobuf, avro and parquet
- Experienced in system design and architecture
- Experienced in secure programming concepts
- Experienced in NoSQL data stores such as Elasticsearch, Athena and MongoDB
Required and Preferred Education and Experience
- Degree in Computer Science or similar, or equivalent work experience
- Proven ability to collaborate well with peers in all parts of the organization
- Experience as technical lead of one or more projects in the business’s critical path
- Proficient with technical documentation creation
- Proven ability to mentor junior engineers (and enjoys doing so)
- Significant professional experience in shipping finished products
Where will you work?
Successful candidates may review our job contract and employee handbook for definitive details, but the short story is that we support work-life balance. Employees work with their team and manager to establish:
- Hybrid office schedule: employees balance working remotely and working at our office in Belfast City Centre.
- Flexible schedule: employees generally work normal business hours. We routinely meet in the afternoon with US-based colleagues, but we rarely schedule meetings earlier than 8 am or past 6 pm local time.
What equipment will you use?
The position requires use of Macbooks and MacOS. We ensure you can work well from home by providing Macbook Pros, monitors, peripherals, and noise-canceling headphones.
Where will you go?
You will be required to travel to the United States for meetings and quarterly planning. You must be able to travel and be authorized to work in the United Kingdom.
