We are looking for a skilled Ruby on Rails Developer to help develop, scale, and maintain our core web applications. You will play a key role in implementing new features, improving performance, and ensuring the delivery of clean, maintainable code.
This is a part-time engagement (approximately 3 hours per day) expected to continue until the end of December.
Key Responsibilities- Develop & Maintain: Design, implement, and maintain robust backend applications and features using Ruby on Rails.
- APIs & Integrations: Integrate and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Architecture & Design: Contribute actively to architecture decisions and feature design, focusing on scalability and performance.
- Code Quality: Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following established best practices.
- Collaboration: Participate effectively in code reviews and technical discussions to ensure high code standards and shared knowledge.
- Performance: Proactively identify bottlenecks, improve application performance, and implement optimization best practices.
- Experience: 3+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
- Database: Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL).
- Engineering Principles: Good grasp of SOLID and REST principles.
- Version Control: Experience working effectively with Git and Git-flow.
- Language: Upper-Intermediate English or above is required for clear technical communication.
- Testing: Experience writing unit and integration tests (e.g., RSpec).
- APIs: Practical GraphQL knowledge.
- Cloud & Deployment: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Heroku, or GCP.
- Background Processing: Experience with Sidekiq or Resque.
- DevOps: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker).
- Advanced Principles: Knowledge of DDD (Domain-Driven Design) or CQRS.
- Templating: Familiarity with view templating engines (ERB, Haml).
