The Role
Senior full‑stack engineer working with a global FinTech client to design, implement, and deploy end‑to‑end solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders, move across frontend and backend (TypeScript/Vue.js, Java/Python), use AI‑augmented tools to accelerate development, write maintainable code, perform code reviews, and shape specifications from high‑level stakeholder direction.
Summary Generated by Built In

Our engineering team at Space Inch is growing! We are looking for talented engineers to join the company, and help drive our technical initiatives forward. Following a string of successful hires, we’re again expanding our engineering team.

We’re currently looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to contribute to one of our longest-running and most successful projects. You’ll be part of an established Space Inch engineering team while also collaborating closely with our client’s team - a major global FinTech corporation in the field of investment management with multiple long-term initiatives underway.

For this position, we're not looking for someone who has mastered a single stack and plans to stay there. We're looking for someone who views programming languages as tools and is excited about leveraging modern AI workflows to build impactful solutions.

Our Mission, Vision, and Values

At Space Inch, we prioritize alignment with our clients and team, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs. We are committed to delivering exceptional work while supporting the personal and professional growth of our team members.

About Working at Space Inch
  • Global Footprint: Our team is around 80 people, primarily based in Croatia, but also with members in South America, the EU, and the US; the product team mostly being in the US, and engineering in Croatia and Brazil
  • Remote-First: We are remote-first, but occasional travel may be required, e.g. for our annual company retreat, or meeting the client
  • Long-Term Vision: We work on end-to-end projects with a long-term vision
  • True Work-Life Balance: We strongly support work-life balance for our team members, even though we work in different time zones

Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience: Experience with Java, Python, TypeScript, or Vue.js is a plus, but we value your ability to adapt to new stacks and collaborate with the team to ship value in the technology best suited for the project.
  • Tech-Agnostic Mindset: A strong foundation in core development principles (OOP, functional programming, clean code, architecture) rather than being tied to a single language or framework
  • AI-Augmented Workflow: Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor, etc.) as a natural part of your workflow, to accelerate development, learn new stacks quickly, and automate routine tasks
  • Adaptability: Ability to broaden or shift technical focus to meet evolving project goals - whether front-end, back-end, or new technologies
  • Communication: Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients and business stakeholders to deeply understand and clarify business needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Navigate the entire product lifecycle as a full-stack engineer: from requirements gathering, scoping, and planning, through to implementation and deployment, leveraging advanced AI tools to accelerate and optimize every stage
  • Break down and explain technical concepts clearly during client interactions and team discussions
  • Move fluidly across the application layers, utilizing AI tools to rapidly upskill and deliver on varied engineering challenges. While our primary stack is TypeScript/Vue.js on the frontend and Java or Python on the backend, we value strong foundational engineering skills that allow you to adapt as project directions evolve.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code guided by strong development principles
  • Conduct code reviews and actively participate in team knowledge sharing

Typical Challenges You'll be Solving
  • Projects that span multiple technologies - you'll need to be a fast learner, not a deep specialist in everything
  • Stakeholders who can describe their desired direction of development, rather than a specific feature - you turn that into a specification
  • Making independent decisions when the answer isn't clear, and communicating your reasoning
  • Managing the balance between respecting deadlines and system stability, taking into account both quality and quantity
Qualities for Success
  • Versatile & Adaptable: You embrace change and view a new framework or language as an opportunity to learn, not a roadblock
  • Solutions-Driven Mindset: You’re proactive and focused on solving the client's actual problem rather than just writing code
  • Ownership Mentality: You care deeply about the end product, its quality, and its long-term impact
  • Curious & Tech-Savvy: You actively experiment with AI tooling and modern workflows to boost your productivity
This Job is Right for You If
  • You are a versatile engineer who can tackle any problem with the right tools
  • You think in systems, not just features
  • You know how to maintain high engineering standards and thoughtful delivery, even when moving at a rapid pace
  • You're genuinely curious - about technology, about your clients' domain, about getting better
This Job is not Right for You If
  • You only want to code in one specific framework/language and resist learning new stacks
  • You're skeptical of AI tools and prefer to avoid them
  • You prefer to receive detailed specifications rather than shape them
  • You require constant supervision and need heavy direction to stay productive

BenefitsWhat's In It for You
  • Real Impact: Real influence on technical decisions, tooling choices, and project direction.
  • Compensations: $4.000,00 – $6.000/monthly for B2B engagement, based on experience and skills.
  • Remote-first setup
  • Health & Wellbeing: 100% paid sick leave + annual health checkup
  • Stay active: Wellness subsidy
  • Continuous Growth: An education budget specifically designed to fuel your learning and help you expand your knowledge base.
  • Extra perks: Referral bonus

What We Do

Our story: 4 unlikely characters and a fun idea 🎮 Space Inch was started by an architect (the building kind), a criminal lawyer, a rock guitarist, and a non-profit exec. We weren’t gamers but we had an idea for a game and a desire to try something out of the ordinary. 🚀 We launched our first original game in 2013. Not long after we quit our day jobs. In the next 5 years, we produced 15 games, 40M installs, and one game was the most downloaded in the US for a month. 🤝 Now, we partner with a small number of corporate clients with whom we have deep, lasting relationships. What makes us different? 🥇 Our engineers determine our expertise, stack, and what we learn next. They define what we mean by “high quality.” 💪 Each engineer helps us decide who we are and what our commitments will be. 🏆 We only accept projects when the code base is part of our expertise. We don’t take on work if we are not going to perform extremely well.
