We are seeking a dynamic, self-driven Full-Stack Engineer (Contractor). We're building the first-mile operations platform for a global food producer: a suit of applications that farm and logistic teams act from. You'll take working prototypes into production, integrating against an API owned by a separate team, and crafting them so that they’re highly reliable and easy to use.
In this role, you will work alongside a Project Manager, Product Designer, Lead Engineer, and the partner’s operations and IT teams.
This is a 3-month full-time contract (40 hours/week) offering $110–$160/hour, with the potential for extension based on project needs and contractor's performance.
Please note that occasional travel may be required as needed to fulfill project tasks.
What You’ll Do at Moon- Prototype building: Web and mobile interfaces, aimed at quick experimentation and validation
- Web app delivery: A responsive web interface, bilingual (EN/ES). Including authentication, deployment, CI/CD, monitoring, error tracking, and other quality-of-life services
- Data integration: Connect to our partner's API layer and live GPS feeds from third-party providers
- Contribute to the tech direction: Stack, architecture, and scope calls, supported by documentation
- Build-to-learn mindset: You can build quick, throwaway prototypes to test ideas with real users. When one works, you know what it needs before production (error handling, security, tests, monitoring) and which shortcuts can stay.
- Experience delivering apps to production: You have 7+ years building web applications and keeping them running for real users. You're strong in React and TypeScript, comfortable on the backend (Node.js or Python), and know how to design a relational database.
- AI-assisted development: You use AI coding tools and know where they save time and where their output needs checking. We use Claude Code, and we expect to learn from how you work with it.
- Infrastructure ownership: You've handled deployment, CI/CD, monitoring, auth, and secrets management yourself, without a platform team to lean on.
- Real-time systems: you have experience shipping user-facing product built on live or near-real-time data, and you can explain the trade-offs (latency, consistency, cost) to non-technical people
- Business-level Spanish: You can work comfortably in Spanish, our partner team's language.
- React Native and mobile depth: You've shipped React Native apps and know what it takes to develop interfaces for small screens.
- Geospatial and telemetry experience: You've worked with mapping tools (Mapbox, Leaflet, deck.gl, or PostGIS), open satellite imagery such as Copernicus Sentinel-2, or time-series and sensor data pipelines.
- Conversational interfaces: You've built products on the WhatsApp Business API or similar messaging platforms.

Skills Required
- At least 7 years of experience building and maintaining web applications in production
- Strong React and TypeScript experience
- Backend development experience with Node.js or Python
- Experience designing relational databases
- Experience deploying and operating applications, including CI/CD, monitoring, authentication, and secrets management
- Experience shipping user-facing products using live or near-real-time data
- Experience using AI coding tools and validating their output
- Ability to rapidly build prototypes and productionize validated solutions with error handling, security, testing, and monitoring
- Business-level Spanish proficiency
- React Native and mobile application development experience

- Experience with WhatsApp Business API or similar conversational platforms
