Expression is seeking a Full Stack Developer to build applications that help people work with complex data and workflows. You will work across the user interface, APIs, and back-end services, partnering with developers, designers, and customer stakeholders to turn real needs into software that is useful, reliable, and easy to navigate.
We are looking for someone who enjoys understanding how a system works from end to end. You should be comfortable taking ownership of a feature, asking questions when requirements are unclear, and working through problems with your team. Strong technical skills matter, and so do curiosity, clear communication, and a willingness to keep learning as the technology and our customers’ needs evolve.
Clearance: Active Secret clearance or higher is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Build responsive web interfaces using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Develop and maintain Node.js services and APIs that support application features and integrations.
- Work with relational and document databases to store, retrieve, and present data effectively.
- Collaborate with teammates and customer stakeholders to understand user needs, clarify requirements, and shape solutions.
- Own features through design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.
- Write maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and share approaches that help the team grow.
- Investigate defects and performance issues, identify root causes, and implement reliable fixes.
- Document technical decisions and communicate progress, tradeoffs, and risks clearly.
- Stay curious about new tools and practices, and apply them when they make the product or development process better.
Required Qualifications
- An associate degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- At least five years of software engineering experience, including three years of recent full stack development experience with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Experience developing applications in AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming principles and API development.
- Experience using Git, including branching and merging.
- Proficiency with the Linux or Unix command line.
- Ability to troubleshoot across the full stack, communicate findings clearly, and collaborate constructively with others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Elasticsearch.
- Experience with Vue or Angular.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform or multiple cloud environments.
- Very comfortable using AI to create efficiencies in your workflows.
