What you’ll do
As a member of Global Services, you will be a part of a creative team responsible for all aspects of the ongoing software development from the initial specification to developing, testing, and launching. Your focus will be to write PHP to a high standard in a timely and scalable way that improves the code in meaningful ways. Also, as Devtech is focused on learning and development, you will be expected to participate in company-wide knowledge-sharing efforts and promote security & quality culture across the company.
- Applying best practices and design patterns
- Participating in technical design and code reviews
- Interpreting design requirements and concepts to produce new or enhanced application functionalities
- Writing testable, well-designed, efficient code by using best software development practices
- Executing full lifecycle software development with a focus on security, quality, and knowledge sharing
- Mentoring and guiding junior developers while reporting to your engineering team lead
What you’ll need
- 3+ years of strong programming skills in PHP OOP
- Strong knowledge of Laravel framework (experience with latest versions of Laravel framework (> 7), ideally 9 and 10)
- Experienced in building REST APIs
- Excellent knowledge of SOLID principles and design patterns
- Experience in building integrations using third-party APIs
- Excellent knowledge of MySQL
- Experience in Vue.js
- Experience with using DB transactions and modeling database schema
- Experience with code versioning tools like Git
- Familiarity with Docker or Laravel Sail
- Familiarity with GraphQL (we use Laravel Lighthouse)
- Experience with Inertia.js is a plus
- Familiarity with Laravel actions is a plus
- Experience with the hosting industry is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
