Full Stack Developer Intern

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Full Stack Developer Intern starting 1st of September 2025 to join our Incept Sustainability team. This position offers hands-on experience with modern web technologies and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects. Incept Sustainability is a part of Ramboll's Strategic Sustainability Consulting department.

Incept Sustainability is Ramboll’s digital platform supporting organizations in their sustainability transformation. Incept Sustainability provides an easy-to-use and two-way communication platform with interactive e-learning courses, and user input and feedback. In the learning journey, we guide users to move from learning to action with insightful assessments, tools and templates. We leverage data analytics to identify gaps, opportunities, and emerging trends and provide actionable insights enabling proactive decision-making and impactful sustainability strategies.

We are growing and the platform is under constant development in close collaboration with our clients while preparing to scale further. About the Role
We seek a detail-oriented intern to assist with full-stack development and code refactoring initiatives. You'll work directly with our engineering team on both frontend and backend development using Next.js 14 (App Router) and Node.js with Express.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Assist in developing and maintaining features across our full-stack application
• Participate in code refactoring projects to improve application architecture
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Collaborate with senior developers to implement best practices
• Debug issues across different parts of the stack
• Contribute to technical documentation
• Participate in code reviews and team meetings

Must-have qualifications:

• Basic understanding of Node.js and Express.js
• Familiarity with React.js and Next.js (particularly the App Router pattern v.13+)
• Knowledge of TypeScript
• Understanding of RESTful APIs
• Basic experience with Git version control
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Good to have qualifications:

• Previous experience with code refactoring projects
• Understanding of database systems (SQL)
• Familiarity with code design patterns
• Familiarity with PHP (nice to have but not required)
