Job Summary

We are currently evolving our technology stack to a modern MERN architecture (MongoDB Atlas, Express, React, Node) and adopting a serverless approach with GraphQL for API integration. Join us in shaping the future of fitness club management solutions.

We are seeking an experienced Back-End Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Node.js and Express, with hands-on experience in MongoDB Atlas and serverless architectures. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining our next-generation product, ensuring seamless integration with various third-party platforms through GraphQL.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with a multi-facetted team to build the next generation of Hapana fitness management software across multiple global regions. 
• Build backend systems to deliver core functionality to users
• Work primarily in Node.js and Express
• Be able to utilize relational SQL databases and NOSQL databases
• Develop APIs to using GraphQL.
• Deploy services within the AWS ecosystem.
• Implement and optimize serverless functions to enhance scalability and performance.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Build and maintain GraphQL APIs for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
• Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of the back-end systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain server-side applications using Node.js and Express.
• Design and manage databases using MongoDB Atlas.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Back-End Developer or similar role.
• AWS knowledge will be an added advantage.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and Express.
• Proficiency in React
• Experience with MongoDB Atlas and database design.
• Familiarity with serverless architectures and services (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
• Proficiency in building and consuming GraphQL APIs.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and integration with front-end components.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Work in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Work with other team members using the Scrum methodology in different time-zones.

This role will be working from home initially with the perspective of coming into the office 3-4 days a week in the coming months.
