The Opportunity
Join Veo as a Software Engineer - AI Tooling to help build a new, advanced solution that leverages AI to empower internal teams and power users in sports technology. You'll be based in our Berlin office and whether it’s crafting intuitive and responsive front-end experiences, building robust tools for video playback and analysis in the browser, or developing scalable systems, your work will shape how sports are experienced globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and a world-class AI team to deliver products that empower coaches, players, and their supporters, driving next-generation improvements through cutting-edge technology.
- Contribute to the full product lifecycle: From ideation, development, deployment, to monitoring - while leveraging customer feedback loops to iteratively refine and improve products.
- AI Integration & Innovation: Work closely with AI experts to integrate advanced algorithms and insights into user-facing solutions, ensuring products stay ahead of industry trends.
- Performance, Security & Scalability: Ensure high performance, security, and scalability across all aspects of the software.
- Design System & User Experience: Leverage and enhance Veo’s design system to create intuitive user experiences.
- Technical Discussions & Collaborative Decision-Making: Participate in technical discussions, reviews, and decisions to shape Veo’s technology landscape.
What We’re Looking For
- Software Engineering Experience: 3+ years in software engineering within a high-growth environment.
- Front-End Development & UI/UX: Expertise in building responsive tools, working with front-end technologies (including React), and a passion for creating intuitive user experiences.
- Video Technology & Browser-Based Playback: A strong interest in video technologies, particularly for browser-based video playback and analysis.
- Collaboration & Cross-Disciplinary Work: A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively across disciplines.
- Continuous Learning & Growth Mindset: A focus on continuous improvement, learning, and adapting to new challenges.
- Problem-Solving & Scalable Systems: A problem-solving mindset with a clear understanding of what "good" looks like when building and operating large-scale systems.
- Architectural Thinking: The ability to discuss trade-offs between architectural choices on both a theoretical and applied level.
- Code Quality & Best Practices: An appreciation for clean, maintainable code and best engineering practices.
- Full-Stack Proficiency: Experience working with both backend (e.g., Python, TypeScript, Node.js) and frontend technologies.
- Testing & CI/CD: Familiarity with testing practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Interest in coaching others and supporting their growth as engineers.
- Strong Communication Skills: Comprehensive verbal and written English communication skills.
