About the role

 We're looking for a front-end engineer who owns the experience users actually see: how fast it loads, how it behaves on a mid-range phone, and whether everyone can use it. You'll build and scale React applications served globally via CDN for a high-traffic, international audience, working closely with product, design, and back-end teams. We want someone who treats performance and accessibility as features rather than afterthoughts, and who thinks about how each component fits the wider system. If you notice a layout shift before anyone else does and can't leave it alone, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain fast, accessible, responsive web applications with React and TypeScript
• Contribute to front-end architecture, shared component libraries, and our design system
• Optimize delivery and performance: CDN and caching strategy, asset optimization, code splitting, and Core Web Vitals
• Integrate with APIs and back-end services in a cloud-based environment
• Turn designs (Figma) into polished, production-ready interfaces, and push back when designs don't hold up in real use
• Write automated tests and take part in code reviews and CI/CD improvements
• Monitor, debug, and resolve issues in development and production
• Work with QA and product to ship features that are reliable, not just complete
  

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional front-end development, building production-grade web applications
• Strong React and TypeScript, including hooks, component design, and rendering performance
• Experience with state management and data fetching (e.g. TanStack Query, Zustand, Redux)
• Solid modern CSS and responsive, mobile-first development (Tailwind, CSS Modules, or similar)
• Hands-on performance work: Core Web Vitals, bundle analysis, lazy loading, caching
• Experience integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs in production
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) and how to test for them
• Automated testing experience: Vitest or Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright or Cypress
• Familiarity with front-end security basics (XSS, CSP, secure token handling)
• Comfortable with Git-based workflows, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelines
• Comfortable working in an AI-assisted workflow (e.g. Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor), with the judgment to review, verify, and take ownership of generated code
• Good written and spoken English

Nice to have

• Deploying front-end applications on AWS (S3, CloudFront), including cache invalidation and CDN strategy
• js or other SSR/SSG frameworks
• Design systems and Storybook
• Monitoring and analytics tooling (e.g. Sentry, GA4, GTM)
• Internationalization for multilingual products
• Experience building SPAs for high-traffic or performance-critical platforms

Would be beneficial 

• • Test automation experience with Playwright or Cypress  
  • Performance testing basics (Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals, k6 or JMeter)  
  • Experience testing WordPress sites, including Multisite and high-traffic sites  
  • Understanding of caching layers (Redis, Varnish, CDN) sufficient to reproduce and isolate cache-related issues  
  • Ability to set up local or test environments with Docker or WP-CLI  
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and how QA fits into release processes  
  • Experience testing event, ticketing, or payment flows
